Usability testing with a small number of users

You do not need dozens of participants to find the major problems in your interface.

A test with a small number of the right users reveals most obvious obstacles, especially if you repeat it after each change.

Give the participant a real task and watch without helping, and note where they hesitate or make mistakes, since those are what to fix first.
